March Challenge: Coffee and Pop

March is just a few days away, so while we are thrilled to announce that each day in both January and February have been filled with people Giving Up To Give, we are also looking ahead to the 19 days in March left to fill. So many of you have been eating rice and beans, and giving up money you earned babysitting, and forgoing dinner out, and not renewing your magazine subscriptions, and on and on. We love all of your creative ideas and we can't thank you enough!

This next month we would like to emphasize the power of the small sacrifice. So our March challenge is to fill each remaining day on our Giving Up To Give calendar with people Giving Up a coffee or a pop (or a bottled water) for a day. This challenge is for everyone. Maybe you have already eaten rice and beans for a week or have made a larger sacrifice--here is an easy way to Give Up again. Maybe you haven't joined us at all and have been waiting for a small way you can jump in--here is your chance!

Let's assume that for 19 days, someone in our Giving Up To Give community Gives Up a coffee or pop, and let's guess the value of that drink to be around $2. That is $38, which would cover the salary for one of Giving Back To Africa's amazing teachers. See? A small sacrfice, when done in community, can make a big difference. You probably won't really miss going through the Starbucks drive-thru or running into the gas station for a pop, but the students at Centre Salisa will not forget the lessons of empowerment and servant leadership that their teachers are pouring into them.

Will you join us again, or for the first time, in March and Give Up your coffee or pop for the day? You won't regret being a part of this Giving Up To Give community!
